| What is Plastic Canvas? |
Plastic Canvas is a different type of needlepoint. The
material used is molded from plastic rather than the
traditional needlepoint material, which is a woven piece of
cloth, cotton or linen
Items such as bookmarks, tissue box covers, ornaments for
the holidays, gift boxes, tote bags and so many more item as
shown on the photo below can be made from this material.
Plastic Canvas comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. The
majority are sold in sheets of about 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" and
with 7 wholes to the inch, which is called 7-count or mesh
plastic canvas. It also is available in smaller version such as
10- & 14- count.
Project books and stitching guides provide all the guidelines
needed to stitch these easy and colorful creative items.
Plastic Canvas has been around for a long time and still is a
very popular craft for all ages to enjoy, so why not give it a
